It's been about 10 days since I posted

I've been out of sorts, what with starting school back. Here are a few things I've taken since the 4th. All kids, but they are so dang cute that I can't help but realize they are the ultimate creation.

Day 4: The Kids

So, I've had a cold for a week now. It's that cold that, when it gets bad, you can't sleep because you can't breathe, but when you take the OTC med, you're so stoned you're worthless. This cold sucks when you're home with your three, funny, energetic kids the whole time you have it. Since today was a bad cold day, I did not venture out. Instead, I took pictures of our Friday Night Fun.

On Fridays, Dude works late. Since I am overlimit on my patience reserve by that evening, we have our "Big Twins*"(we'll call them Melody and Harmony) come over to play with the kids and get them in bed . Tonight, only one Big Twin, Harmony, came over.

Here are pics of each kid taken at the dinner/Chutes and Ladders mania.

Princess, the personification of Beauty and Faith

Monkey Boy, Love and Order made flesh

Ladybug, this family's embodiment of Joy and Abandon

*Note: I have many children. We have these three, plus the Big Twins, plus a wonderful assortment of godchildren-types and my students/former students. Usually, when I say "my kids" I mean my actual offspring, but there are days it's hard to tell for sure.

Day 3: Baby, it's cold outside

It's usually pretty warm here. As a matter of fact, it's supposed to be in the 70s this weekend. However, tonight it was about 36F outside my house. Because I'm kinda over the holiday-induced kid picture frenzy, I insisted I go out to shoot something else with my camera that takes crappy photos at night without flash. So, I did. Here it is. You may notice that the knot in this tree looks to have an owl in it. It does not; that is the security light reflecting off of knots in the wood.

The gazebo is lovely. I've lived 5 miles or so from it for most of my life, and tonight was the first time I've ever been at that park or at the gazebo. Strange what we take for granted in our native environments.

This little arrangement was rapidly set up in our bathroom to showcase three things that tickled me so much that I bought them for other people to give me this Christmas: Charlotte and Wilbur-ish Littlest Pet Shop pets, BE Buxom lip gloss from the mini set, and Chanel Allure, my favorite standby fragrance (and the one I wore at our Big Fat "Some of Us are Catholic and the Church is Pretty" Wedding, see lower sidebar). The eyes of these critters always look fuzzy... hmmmmm.

Day 2: Tree's still decked for Christmas

Since the tree didn't get un-decorated today, we are having our last sleepover under the "Christmas" tree. Of course, it's always up, but it's not often lit and certainly never as special the rest of the year.

BTW, I'm using my only camera, a Fujifilm S5100. 10x optical zoom, but only 4.0 megapixels. There should have been a law. I like this camera pretty well most of the time, but most of the time I'm shooting with flash in regular light. Unlike the last two nights.

So, again with the slide show. Not in love, but it's fast and shows multiple images...
